There are thousands of volunteers in the area and the help and support they provide is vital to those in need. These people give up huge amounts of their time to improve the lives of others. This award recognises outstanding individual contributions to community life. This category is open to all age groups. This award goes to a volunteer who regularly makes a difference to their area. An individual who gives freely and unselfishly of his or her time to help others, who has demonstrated innovation, teamwork, passion and integrity throughout their involvement and produced a profound effect through their work.
