TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS
The Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority Meetings) (England) regulations 2020 now enable Town and Parish Councils in England to hold remote meetings if they so wish. Kington Town Council had a successful trial of this using the video conferencing system provided by Zoom on Monday 4th May and resolved to reinstate regular monthly meetings of Full Council via this video conferencing system until such time as the Government permits a return to public gatherings, enabling face to face meetings to take place. As always, members of the public are welcome to join us and to access the meeting you will need the meeting ID and password which can be found on the meeting agenda. There will be an additional meeting of the Town Council on Tuesday 19th January 2021 at 7.00pm for a single agenda item. Please see details on the relevant page of this website. The next full meeting of the Town Council will take place on Monday 1st February 2021 at 7.00pm. Please check this website for the relevant agenda on or around three days prior to the meeting to find the access code to the meeting. If you would like any help to access the online meeting, please contact the clerk by emailing email@example.com or phone 01544 239098 and leave a message or call 07483914485.
Where there is a business need to do so, committee meetings are also taking place remotely. Again, check the website or contact the Clerk for further information. Committee meetings are always open to the public.
TOWN COUNCIL OFFICES
The Town Council offices are currently closed to casual visitors until further notice. If you need to contact town council staff you can do so by telephone on 01544 239098 or mobile 07483 914485. Messages left by telephone will be responded to as quickly as possible and emails to the town council will continue to be monitored and are the preferred method of contact. If you wish to visit the Town Council offices, please make an appointment. You should be aware that you will be asked for your name, address and contact details in accordance with Government advice to support Covid track and trace systems. This information will be kept for 21 days and then destroyed. By making an appointment you will be deemed to have given permission for your data to be used for this purpose. Social distancing of 2m will be adhered to as far as possible when visiting the Town Council offices but as our building is occupied by other tenants, we cannot guarantee that the building is Covid safe.
At the moment, we expect the Recreation Ground to remain open but would remind everyone of the need to adhere to social distancing. The children's play area is currently open although there are new restrictions on the number of children and families using the facility and we strongly advise you to adhere to the signage and instructions about hand washing and social distancing.
You can report potholes, full litter bins, fly tipping and related matters online via the Herefordshire Council website www.herefordshire.gov.uk.
In the interests of all our residents, please check on your neighbours and tell your neighbours if you are self isolating so that they can provide any help or assistance that you might require. Heed government advice on your own personal situation and ensure you stay healthy.
