The Scrutiny Committee

The Scrutiny Committee has a special role within the Council and does not meet regularly. Scrutiny Committee meetings are held as and when they are needed, generally to discuss specific Council legal business. The Full Council generally ask the Scrutiny Committee to convene to discuss specific business, and all recommendations made by the Scrutiny Committee are then taken to the Full Council for ratification and acceptance.
