This committee discusses local planning applications, which are sent to the Town Council, from Herefordshire Council's Planning Department, for comment. Although the Town Council can support, object to or make a general comment on an application, the final decision always lies with the Local Authority's Planning Department. Kington Town Council's Planning and Environment Committee will change its usual meeting day with effect from October 2024 to the first Monday of each month. Members of the public are invited to attend. Start times of Committee meetings can vary as there are generally several meetings on the same evening. The business of some meetings can take longer to discuss than others, meaning that the next meeting's start time may be slightly later than originally planned. WITH EFFECT FROM JANUARY 2024, THE PLANNING COMMITTEE WILL INCORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL MATTERS AND IS RENAMED THE PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE.
