20 mile an hour speed limit for Kington?

Published: 20 November 2018

A 20mph limit is not just about tackling speeding.
The wider benefits may explain why they are becoming so popular throughout the country. There are clear health benefits of more walking and cycling, and less pollution; a 20mph limit makes a significant reduction in the most dangerous NOx and PM10 emissions hence they are supported by public health bodies such as NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), Public Health England, Association of Directors of Public Health and WHO (World Health Organisation).

Research shows that making places better for walking and cycling can boost trade by up to 40%; pedestrians spend more than people arriving by car.
